一、金山次郎方・加州慶覚方へ書状を出す也、(p.135)

A short excerpt, yet the most intriguing thing about this is that a message was sent from Kitano shrine, despite the fact that Sunozaki Keigaku was assuredly affiliated with Honganji. The only means of describing the situation would be to point out that in the aftermath of the Chōkyō ikki, Keigaku had achieved the rank of daikan, and was responsible for Kitano shrine properties in Kaga. Further evidence of how Sunozaki had risen in society comes again from the Kitano Shake Hikitsuke, which follows.

一、加州より助二郎罷上がり、割符貳个半、是者十二貳文柴山方去々年未進分に上がり、
五貫文者慶覚豊田年貢且納める、又長崎の保年貢六貫文、相残る分者赤谷に引違を上がる 由助二郎に申す、長崎の保に指出以下上がる也、當年殊に洪水之由注進これ在り、（下略） （p.300）

As alluded to before, this article relates to the visit of a certain Sukejirō to Kitano shrine in relation to payment of tithes from Kaga. Amongst those being audited is Keigaku. As he is referred to in the same document subsequently delivered to Shibayama Kurō Saei`mon, quite obviously he was closely affiliated with this level of shōen ruler.
